Speaker A:Let's do this, not that we are back for do this, not that presented by Marigold and I am excited because we are heading into the most important time of the year for both business and consumer marketers for database growth.
Speaker A:This is it from October 15th through December 15th.
Speaker A:This is the ultimate time to grow your database.
Speaker A:Okay, I'm going to get into some specific tactics that you can do to get people onto your list for both business and consumer marketers.
Speaker A:But this October 15th date is critical.
Speaker A:So let me first give you some stats about why it's so important.
Speaker A:So first, on the consumer side for consumer marketers, from October 15 through December 15, opt in rates.
Speaker A:That's people signing up onto your list.
Speaker A:Opt in rates are 250% higher than any other 60 day period of the year.
Speaker A:This is the moment.
Speaker A:These 60 days are when you're going to get the most amount of people signing up for your list.
Speaker A:Now on the emails that you do send out from October 15th through December 15th, okay, your email open rates are 32% higher than any other 60 day period of the year.
Speaker A:The last stat, which a little bit confusing, is that your unsubscribe rates, the people that are removing themselves from your list during this 60 day period of the year 60 day time period is 210% higher than any other 60 day time period of the year.
Speaker A:Why are unsubscribes higher and yet the people signing up for your list also higher because as people are signing up for certain lists, they're taking themselves off of other lists because they want to kind of have an equal thing going on in their inbox.
Speaker A:So these are really all important stats to know what about on the business side for business marketers.
Speaker A:Okay, this period, October 15th through December 15th is everything.
Speaker A:day period and you mention:Speaker A:Now, similar to the consumer side, unsubscribes are way high.
Speaker A:During this October 15 through December 15 period, they're up about 195% higher than any other 60 day period.
Speaker A:Why?
Speaker A:Exact same thing.
Speaker A:We're all going through our inbox.
Speaker A:Like how do we clean up our inbox?
Speaker A:We want to have less email, we want to have less clutter.
Speaker A:So this 60 day period is critical.
Speaker A:So now that we know this is when people are signing up for stuff, okay.
Speaker A:s when people are reacting to:Speaker A:What should we be doing?
Speaker A:What are specific tactics that we should be doing?
Speaker A:The most important thing that you could be doing is thinking about your website and specifically making sure that you have popups going.
Speaker A:Somebody goes to your website, you have a pop up and you say, okay, put in your email address to get our discount code for the biggest discounts of the year and put it in there right here.
Speaker A:One field or two fields on the consumer side and on your actual website, right on that homepage.
Speaker A:Make sure it's very clear how to sign up for discounts in a very bold way.
Speaker A:Get our pre Black Friday discount list.
Speaker A:Okay, make sure that your website starting October 15th ready with pop ups on the way in and then exit pop ups on the way out.
Speaker A:Do everything you can to grab the data and the same thing on the business side.
Speaker A:t says something like get the:Speaker A:2025 huge changes tip sheet for SMB owners.
Speaker A:Get them on the pop up on the way in.
Speaker A:Make sure there's a huge signup on that homepage on your site.
Speaker A:Get, get the exit pop up on the way out.
Speaker A:This 60 day period is when you're going to grow your list.
Speaker A:This is when we are all in the mode of I'm going to do something for next year.
Speaker A:I need to know what's going to happen for next year.
Speaker A:I need the discounts for the holiday season.
Speaker A:I need to save some money when I buy these things.
Speaker A:This is how you grow your database is take advantage of this time period.
Speaker A:Now there are other tactics.
Speaker A:If you do anything on Instagram, you have to use ManyChat.
Speaker A:This is not a commercial for ManyChat.

Speaker A:And you're like what's that?
Speaker A:ManyChat which is M a n y chat C H a t they have it is free to use.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:ey said, hey, if you want the:Speaker A:in the comments and you write:Speaker A:And then instantly on Instagram you, you get a DM with a link and you click on the link and you put in your email address and you go on that.
Speaker A:The data, you go on the list of that company, they are using manychat, it is free up to a thousand dms.
Speaker A:Again, this is not commercial for them.
Speaker A:I don't get paid by them.
Speaker A:On the consumer side, it's the same thing.
Speaker A:If you want our biggest discount code of the year, if you want our pre Black Friday code for discounts, put in the chat pre Black Friday, just write that.
Speaker A:And then instantly you have it set up a dm, then will go to that person with a link back to your form where they will give you their email address.
Speaker A:Manychat is secret sauce stuff on Instagram and also works on WhatsApp and some other platforms.
Speaker A:So the last piece that I would really be thinking about as it relates to this time period of the year, this October 15 through December 15 time period, is for business marketers.
Speaker A:You really should be thinking about your content, okay?
Speaker A:ant to title your content the:Speaker A:For the retail sector, that's fine, that's okay.
Speaker A:But what you really want to do is take it a step further because you know you're getting more people to sign up for your stuff right now than any other time of the year.
Speaker A:Be very intentional because what people download, the name of the content that people download can let your salespeople jump on these opportunities immediately, right?
Speaker A:e name of your content is the:Speaker A:Instantly when somebody downloads that, what does it tell your sales team?
Speaker A:He says, oh, this person's in market for a new CRM platform.
Speaker A:We sell CRM platforms.
Speaker A:This is a good lead.
Speaker A:It's not a top of the funnel lead now, it's a mid funnel lead, right?
Speaker A:Because what they are downloading tells you what they're interested in.
Speaker A:Or you know, the:Speaker A:And let's say that's what you're selling, right?
Speaker A:You're selling an HR hiring solution for small businesses.
Speaker A:You know that these companies, this individual is in hiring mode.
Speaker A:So make your content intentional so that way your salespeople can jump on these immediately.
Speaker A:Really what I want to do is raise your awareness of this time period of the year, October 15th through December 15th for business and consumer market.
Speaker A:And remember, do not be scared off by unsubscribes.
Speaker A:Do not be scared off by unsubscribes because you will get a lot of them this time of the year.
Speaker A:That is the time of the year that we're in and it is.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:All right, before we get to.

Speaker A:I hope this dude's not listening.
Speaker A:He probably isn't.
Speaker A:Oh, maybe he is.
Speaker A:I don't even care.
Speaker A:He was so annoying.
Speaker A:So I went to dinner with this.
Speaker A:Me and my wife went to this other couple.
Speaker A:We've never out to dinner with them before.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:And the dude was like studying the menu like it was his job.
Speaker A:And I, I don't know how everybody else is.
Speaker A:I don't really think dinners need to be more than 90 minutes.
Speaker A:I just don't.
Speaker A:I like to go out and then I like to come home.
Speaker A:Maybe I'm a tool.
Speaker A:Maybe I'm boring.
Speaker A:I, I don't know.
Speaker A:I can't handle these two and a half hour dinners.
Speaker A:I just can't do it enough.
Speaker A:We don't need to say that much to each other.
Speaker A:Anyway, so he's studying the menu, and we're there, I don't know, 20, 30 minutes already.
Speaker A:And finally the waiter comes over, and I'm like, thank God.
Speaker A:Where's this guy been?
Speaker A:I'm ready to order.
Speaker A:And the waiter says, hey, so is everybody here ready?
Speaker A:I want to take your order.
Speaker A:And the dude that I'm there.
Speaker A:Dinner with from the other couple goes, you know what?
Speaker A:We need a few more minutes.
Speaker A:And I was like, are you actually kidding me?
Speaker A:Because you know what happens when you tell the waiter, we need a few more minutes?
Speaker A:They don't come back in, like, two minutes.
Speaker A:They come back in, like, 30 minutes.
Speaker A:Because they're like, all right, dude, I'm gonna go to my other tables.
Speaker A:I tried.
Speaker A:Sorry.
Speaker A:And I look at this guy.
Speaker A:I'm like, are you.
Speaker A:Is this a joke?
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:And of course, the waiter disappears.
Speaker A:All right?
Speaker A:And then the waiter comes back, finally comes back, okay?
Speaker A:And he goes, how about now?
Speaker A:We all good now?
Speaker A:And I saw it in my.
Speaker A:In this guy's face I was dealing with.
Speaker A:He was about to say he wasn't ready.
Speaker A:I.
Speaker A:And I was about to kick him under the table.
Speaker A:And so I immediately said, the way I go, we are good.
Speaker A:Let's roll.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:And then we order.
Speaker A:And this dude asks, like, 37 questions.
Speaker A:I don't understand what's wrong with him?
Speaker A:And then the meal was extremely long.
Speaker A:I was so bored.
Speaker A:And then, not only did the guy order dessert, which I usually bail on, unless, like, I really am into the dessert, but then after dessert, he ordered coffee.
Speaker A:After dessert, I'm like, what are we doing?
Speaker A:Like, are we moving in here?
Speaker A:This is out of control.
Speaker A:90 minutes.
Speaker A:That's it.
Speaker A:There should be a bell that goes off at Everybody's table.
Speaker A:After 90 minutes is like, it's over.
Speaker A:You need to leave.
Speaker A:And that would be amazing.
Speaker A:So I don't know what's wrong with me.
Speaker A:I shouldn't be around human beings.
Speaker A:I'm just not good around other human beings.
Speaker A:Whatever.
